How to setup the F3 dashboard

requirements

* xbox 360 RGH / JTAG
* F3 installer installed on your xbox 360 - watch this video if you need help: http://youtu.be/hZDfk3MOxXc
* internet connection
* internal or external HDD
* windows computer

----------------------------------

**make sure your RGH / JTAG xbox 360 has an internet connection (wired or wireless)**

using your standard xbox 360 hard drive

installing and setting up F3
----------------------------------

1. run the F3 installer from the "games" section on your xbox 360
2. select "hdd"
3. select "download latest version"
4. select "install F3"
5. select "install and configure dashlaunch"
6. wait for everything to download
7. select "continue"

dashlaunch will open

8. select "paths"
9. select "default"
10. select "hdd"
11. select "freestyle"
12. select "default.xex"
13. press the right bumper
14. hover over the "HDD"
15. press "X" to save to launch.ini
16. press "B" to exit

F3 should bootup

1. go to "file manager"
2. on the left file browser square, navigate to "hdd1"
3. press and hold "right bumper" then press "Y" - name this folder "RGH Content"
4. select the "RGH content folder"
5. press and hold "left bumper" then press "Y" - name this folder "360Games"
6. press and hold "left bumper" then press "Y" - name this folder "Arcade"
7. press and hold "left bumper" then press "Y" - name this folder "EMUS"
8. press and hold "left bumper" then press "Y" - name this folder "homebrew"
9. press "B" until you're back on the dashboard
10. go to "settings"
11. select "content settings"
12. select "manage game paths"
13. pres "Y" to add a new path
14. select "change path"
15. select "hdd1"
16. select "RGH content"
17. press "Y"
18. the path should read "hdd1:\rgh content\
19. change the scan depth to "10"
20. select "automatic" on "retail" and "devkit"
21. press "X" to save
22. this will make the F3 dashboard scan the "RGH content" and any folders in that folder for any new content.
you will put the xbox 360 games in the "360 games" folder
emulators and ROMS in the "EMUS" folder
Arcade games in the "Arcade games"
homebrew apps in the "homebrew" folder
23. go back to "settings"
24. select "system settings"
25. select "fan settings" - change your FAN settings. I prefer to have it at around 75% - 80%
26. press "B"
27. DONE

using an external USB hard drive

Formatting the hard drive

**WARNING, THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING ON YOUR USB HARD DRIVE**

1. download these files: http://goo.gl/RV944
2. extract them to your C: drive
3. go to "start"
4. go to "all programs"
5. go to "accessories"
6. go to "command prompt"
7. in the commman prompt window type in "cd C:\setting up F3
8. plug in your USB hard drive - Notice the Drive letter that appears the storage device prompt
9. in the commmand prompt type in "fat32format (drive letter:) - Enter
10. this will format your hard drive as a FAT32 device
11. DONE.

**make sure your RGH / JTAG xbox 360 has an internet connection (wired or wireless)**

9. select "default"
10. select "usb0"
11. select "freestyle"

13. press the right bumper

16. press "B" to exit

F3 should bootup
